President Trump will visit the UK September 17 to 19 for his unprecedented second State Visit<\/a>, Buckingham Palace announced today. The President and First Lady will be hosted by the King and Queen at Windsor Castle for the three-day trip which is sure to attract attention from across the globe. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe President of the United States of America, President Donald J. Trump, accompanied by the First Lady Mrs. Melania Trump, has accepted an invitation from His Majesty The King to pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom from 17 September to 19 September 2025,\u201d the Palace said in a statement. Further details of the program will be announced \u201cin due course.\u201d<\/p>\n

The invitation was extended to the President by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer back in February during a meeting at the White House. Delivering a letter from King Charles in front of the world\u2019s media, Starmer said, \u201cIt\u2019s an invitation for a second State Visit. This is really special. This has never happened before, this is unprecedented. And I think that just symbolizes the strength of the relationship between us.\u201d <\/p>\n

The unprecedented nature of the trip refers to the fact that Trump will be the first ever elected Head of State to receive a second State Visit to the UK. His last was in 2019<\/a> where he was hosted by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace. <\/p>\n

Today\u2019s announcement comes just after France\u2019s President Macron and his wife Brigitte were hosted by the King and Queen at Windsor Castle<\/a>. On arrival to the UK, they were taken on a carriage ride through the streets of Windsor. However, it is doubtful that such an event would take place for the US President after a carriage ride down the Mall in 2019 was said to be too much of a security risk. <\/p>\n

There have also been recent reports that, unlike Macron, Trump will not \u201cbe given the honor\u201d of addressing the UK\u2019s Parliament as his visit falls during the legislature\u2019s recess. The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported<\/a> that the lack of address \u201crisks a backlash from the US president.\u201d <\/p>\n

President Trump is expected to make a private visit to Scotland<\/a> this summer to his golf resort, but he will not meet King Charles until the State Visit in September. <\/p>\n
