Salford City owners Gary Neville and Sir David Beckham have reportedly appointed City Football Group executive Gavin Fleig as the club’s new CEO.<\/p>\n

The Athletic <\/a>claims the 45-year-old has joined the League Two outfit after more than a decade of service at the CFG, who boast Manchester City<\/a> as one of several clubs in their multi-club structure.<\/p>\n

During his time with the CFG, Fleig was responsible for overseeing the talent strategy and player development pathway across the club’s multi-club network.<\/p>\n

The report adds that in his new role, which he will begin in October, Fleig will be responsible for “leading and driving the club’s strategic and operational direction” as Salford aim to move up the English Football League.<\/p>\n

The appointment of the Englishman comes after two of United’s<\/a> Class of 92 graduates, Neville and Beckham, were part of a consortium that took over Salford City earlier this year.<\/p>\n

After winning promotion to League 2 in 2019, Salford City have spent the last six years in the fourth tier of English football, and finished the 2024\/25 campaign in eighth place.<\/p>\n
