{"id":265357,"date":"2025-07-14T22:45:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-14T22:45:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/265357\/"},"modified":"2025-07-14T22:45:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-14T22:45:10","slug":"birmingham-bus-passenger-spat-at-driver-after-refusing-to-pay-fare-cctv-appeal-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/265357\/","title":{"rendered":"Birmingham bus passenger spat at driver after refusing to pay fare \u2013 CCTV appeal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A CCTV appeal has been launched to find a man wanted in connection with a vile incident on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Birmingham;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Birmingham<\/a> bus.<\/p>\n<p>The passenger got on a Number 51 bus on Monday, March 24 when an incident took place close to Six Ways Island in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/aston-and-nechells\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Aston;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"> Aston<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The passenger is said to have got on the bus which runs between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/birmingham-city-centre\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Birmingham city centre;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Birmingham city centre<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/walsall\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Walsall;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Walsall<\/a> and not paid shortly after 12.30pm.<\/p>\n<p>He has then had an argument with the bus driver.<\/p>\n<p><b>Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.news.yahoo.com\/birmingham-child-rapist-abused-victim-175110863.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Child rapist \u2018abused victim for years\u2019 keeping indecent photos of her on phone;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Child rapist \u2018abused victim for years\u2019 keeping indecent photos of her on phone<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>This led to him spitting through the slot separating the driver from the passengers, and landing on them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/west-midlands-police\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:West Midlands Police;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">West Midlands Police<\/a> is asking for the public\u2019s help to identify a man wanted in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n<p>In CCTV images he is shown as being white, with a beard and a cigarette hanging out of his mouth.<\/p>\n<p>He is wearing a black hat and a black and grey hooded coat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/newsletter-preference-centre\/?view=Solus&amp;mailingListId=67ec6fc9-65d2-4b0c-b55e-ee73660ce693&amp;utm_source=solusarticle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Get the latest BirminghamLive news direct to your inbox;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><b>Get the latest BirminghamLive news direct to your inbox<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In issuing the CCTV appeal a spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: \u201cDo you recognise this man?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would like to speak to him following an assault on the number 51 bus in Birmingham close to Six Ways Island on 24 March, between 12.40pm and 12:55pm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA man entered the bus without paying and had a dispute with the driver.
