Nikki Sixx said health issues were the reason M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce did not partake in Ozzy Osbourne\u2019s farewell show<\/a> in Birmingham, England, earlier this month.<\/p>\n The band\u2019s presence wouldn\u2019t have been out of the question, as the Back to the Beginning show<\/a> featured a bevy of rock legends, including Metallica, Slayer, and the Cr\u00fce\u2019s fellow hair metal legends, Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/a>. When a fan asked Sixx on X if the band would\u2019ve liked to have been there, the bassist replied, \u201cWe have been having health issues within the band\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n While Sixx didn\u2019t offer any specific details, in a follow-up post<\/a> he wrote about the care he puts into his own health. While Sixx noted that the results of some recent medical tests suggested \u201cthis 66 year old pirate ship looks ready to back to see\u201d (despite \u201csome misadventures in the past,\u201d he quipped), at his age, he was approaching work with caution.<\/p>\n \u201cI work HARD and I\u2019m not interested in dying form work and BS STRESS,\u201d he wrote, adding, \u201cI have a wonderful wife, 5 golden children and a beautiful granddaughter. Do you think any part of my past indulgences Is worth destroying the beautiful life I built? Never. This is it. Either get your shit tighter or die a slow death crawl. We all die, some just give up sooner\u2026.I\u2019m planning on cracking 100. That will piss off the critics.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s possible Sixx could\u2019ve also been referring to a recent vocal ailment suffered by singer Vince Neil<\/a>. Back in March, the Cr\u00fce was forced to postpone their Las Vegas residency<\/a> so Neil could undergo a vocal procedure, though no specifics were given.<\/p>\n \u201cMy health is my top priority so I can bring you the awesome shows you deserve, and I can\u2019t wait to return to the stage,\u201d Neil wrote at the time. \u201cThank you for all the well wishes that keep reaching me. Your support means more than you know.\u201d<\/p>\n A rep for M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce didn\u2019t immediately return Rolling Stone\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce released a new version of their hit \u201cHome Sweet Home\u201d with Dolly Parton<\/a> earlier this year.
