A new training centre at Meadow Court, Millshaw for NEET young people was officially opened on 3 June by Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr Barry Anderson.<\/p>\n
The centre, run by Birmingham-based provider Juniper Training, runs vocational training, apprenticeships and employability programmes, helping young people gain the skills, confidence and qualifications they need to succeed in the world.<\/p>\n
Juniper will provide individually tailored study programme to develop Maths and English, work and personal skills \u2013 initial skills to equip students moving into employment.<\/p>\n
They offer opportunities for the young people to work with local employers on work placements, personal development, life skills and the chance to meet visiting professionals<\/p>\n
Cllr Barry Andrews commented:<\/p>\n
\n\u201cYou recognise the challenge of the growing number of young people who are not in education, employment or training, commonly known as NEET. \u201cThis centre is more than just bricks and mortar, it will provide opportunities for growth and the unwavering belief that every individual deserves the chance to thrive through education and skills development.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
