{"id":265735,"date":"2025-07-15T02:07:05","date_gmt":"2025-07-15T02:07:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/265735\/"},"modified":"2025-07-15T02:07:05","modified_gmt":"2025-07-15T02:07:05","slug":"eu-warns-of-big-gap-as-trump-amps-up-threats-on-eu-canada-mexico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/265735\/","title":{"rendered":"EU warns of &#8216;big gap&#8217; as Trump amps up threats on EU, Canada, Mexico"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">The tech sector is facing renewed uncertainty after President Trump announced new tariff rates but delayed their implementation until Aug. 1.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">\u201cIt&#8217;s been two steps forward, one step back,\u201d Deepwater Asset Management managing partner Gene Munster told Yahoo Finance&#8217;s <a data-i13n=\"cpos:1;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/author\/daniel-howley\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:Daniel Howley;cpos:1;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daniel Howley<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">&#8220;We&#8217;re still moving forward,&#8221; Munster continued, &#8220;but what it means for Big Tech is that it opens up this unknown about what happens now and in that \u2026 December quarter, because any changes probably won&#8217;t really start to take effect until midway through the September quarter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Some companies, like Nvidia (<a data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/NVDA\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:NVDA;cpos:2;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NVDA<\/a>) and Apple (<a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/AAPL\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:AAPL;cpos:3;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AAPL<\/a>), won a reprieve from tariffs in the short run but still face individual actions from the Trump administration, Howley wrote in this week&#8217;s<a data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/preferences.newsletters.yahoo.net\/subscribe\/financetech?ncid=366&amp;.tsrc=366&amp;ncid=crm_-1410821-20240925-1&amp;bt_user_id=mr7cq8GBSOV6K8R5o6dQWsd8mroARct8lRG9zZ1%2FPepe5dyO67kJeyFk91MnkY38hkZgGBUtLOlt6SaTIZisU5i9%2FrMdsGFSavy5ysJLsER9VP7WMAHQxh4MBFN6ZrNF&amp;bt_ts=1727295067360\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:tech newsletter;cpos:4;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"> tech newsletter<\/a>.
