This beautiful town has gained the attention of British tourists looking to enjoy a staycation at home. Located in the north of England, this seaside<\/a> spot is sees less crowds than more popular coastal spots like Cornwall<\/a> but it\u2019s still a great place to visit.<\/p>\n

Morecambe has been named by Host Unusual as one of the best seaside towns, and it\u2019s not surprising to see it make the list. Morecambe, in Lancashire<\/a> is most famous for being home to the largest area of intertidal mudflats in the UK.<\/p>\n

Host Unusual<\/a> says: \u201cA quintessentially English coastal<\/a> town, Morecambe is delightfully nestled around its award-winning seafront promenade that overlooks five blissful miles of sandy coast.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Lancashire hotspot also showcases the Lakeland Fells in the distance, for awe-inspiring scenery that\u2019s well worth capturing.\u201d<\/p>\n

It says that there\u2019s a range of bird<\/a> life to see in the area which makes for a relaxing activity. There\u2019s also a series of public art installations known as The Tern Project which are fascinating to visit.<\/p>\n

It adds: \u201cOh, and don\u2019t forget to pay a visit to the iconic statue of the much-loved comedian Eric Morecambe, looking joyfully out across the promenade.\u201d<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a range of things to do and see while you\u2019re in the area.<\/p>\n

You can visit the Eric Morecambe Statue and the Morecambe Winter Gardens, two iconic landmarks of the town<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Or, if these aren\u2019t quite what you\u2019re looking for, you can enjoy the scenic views and wildlife<\/a> of Morecambe Bay.<\/p>\n

Another popular place to visit in the area is Happy Mount Park which was originally created in the 1920s as a traditional urban park area.<\/p>\n

One visitor on Tripadvisor who visited said: \u201cLove this park<\/a> with its cafe and woodland walls and lots to do for everyone. We’ve been a couple of times and it’s so nice to see families enjoying the park.\u201d<\/p>\n
