A loved up couple shared a special moment at Wimbledon last night after a plumber got down on one knee to the love of his life.<\/p>\n

Darren Barsdell, 44, from Lake, Isle of Wight<\/a>, declared his love for EmilyAdams, 33, on Henman Hill after being together for six years.<\/p>\n

The pair first met at a mutual friend\u2019s wedding, where they sat next to each other and have not looked back ever since.<\/p>\n

Fans whooped and cheered after Emily said the all-important yes and got excited about her big day ahead.<\/p>\n

The business owner and former model told Metro<\/strong>: \u2018It was just a whirlwind of emotion and a bit of a blur when it all happened. I had no idea what was going on.<\/p>\n

\u2018It was all so much, it took me a moment to register what had happened and I felt completely overwhelmed with us being cheered on.<\/p>\n

\u2018I was gobsmacked if I\u2019m being honest but it was such a lovely event and surprise.<\/p>\n

\u2018It was just incredible, I couldn\u2019t have asked for a better day.\u2019<\/p>\n

Darren said he knew it was the right moment to propose and wanted to make it \u2018spectacular\u2019.<\/p>\n

He told Emily that he was going to the toilet during the men\u2019s final match between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.<\/p>\n

But he had popped out and talked to a cameraman on the hill who was happy to film the moment later unfold.<\/p>\n

To celebrate the good news the couple shared a glass of Pimms and cracked open the champagne.<\/p>\n

Darren told Metro<\/strong>: \u2018I\u2019m absolutely thrilled that she said yes. There was a lot of preparation, a lot of nervousness, a lot of excitement but on the day I couldn\u2019t have asked for anything more.<\/p>\n

\u2018There were people all around congratulating us about the news.<\/p>\n

\u2018It was all so fun and we got loads of free champagne from others as well. We felt like B-list celebrities.<\/p>\n

\u2018What\u2019s more, the sun was shining and it was one of the hottest weekends of the year.<\/p>\n

\u2018After the proposal, we headed into Wimbledon Village with the people who had given us the champagne.<\/p>\n

\u2018The experience was just unbelievable.\u2019 <\/p>\n

While Emily isn\u2019t a massive sports fan, Darren\u2019s favourite tennis player is Andre Agassi and his favourite tennis couple is Agassi and Steffi Graf.<\/p>\n

In an iconic Wimbledon moment in 1996 during the women\u2019s singles semi-final match Steffi Graf answered a marriage proposal from the crowd.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

A spectator shouted: \u2018Steffi, will you marry me?\u2019 from the stands, to which she responded: \u2018How much money do you have?\u2019<\/p>\n

While Darren has been to Wimbledon before, it was Emily\u2019s first time and she enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere during the men\u2019s final.<\/p>\n

After a fun-filled weekend, the couple are back off to the Isle of Wight this evening, ready to start planning for the big day.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not the first time love was in the air at Wimbledon.<\/p>\n

Last year Gabriele Pamboni proposed to his partner Annalisa Leoni on centre court.<\/p>\n

Gabriele reached out his hand to get Annalisa\u2019s attention, and the couple laughed before sealing the deal with a kiss.<\/p>\n
