However, the giant 6’5″ midfielder has no future at Elland Road, with Daniel Farke not fancying Gyabi over the last couple of Championship seasons.

He has enjoyed two productive loan spells with Plymouth Argyle, where he won the Young Player of the Season award in his second stint with the club.

The 21-year-old has developed well over the last few years, but he is into the final 12 months of his deal in West Yorkshire after Gyabi penned a four-year deal following a £5 million move from Man City (The Yorkshire Evening Post).

MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES

Therefore, most would expect a permanent exit for Gyabi, given the fact his PSR value would be £1.25 million. That doesn’t look likely to be the case this summer, unfortunately for Leeds. In a shock twist, he could be set for another loan.

Journalist Pete O’Rourke explains that Gyabi is a loan target for a number of Championship and French clubs in this summer’s transfer window.

A loan, like with Wober, will get Gyabi’s inflated wage off the books. The contracts Victor Orta handed out to players in that era perhaps explain why Leeds feel loaning is easier than selling.

Gyabi is symptomatic of the issues the 49ers are dealing with regarding a number of contracts and players this summer.

Photo by Jacques Feeney/Offside/Offside via Getty ImagesWill Jack Harrison join Darko Gyabi out of the Leeds exit door?

It’s been reported previously by Leeds United News, in an exclusive, that Leeds could yet retain Jack Harrison this summer and reintegrate him into the first-team.

With the winger having a contract until 2028 at Elland Road, Leeds have a ‘problem’ with Harrison.
