A self-taught artist from Salford is showcasing a new exhibition exploring the many sides of the city,\u00a0featuring never-before-seen work.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The exhibition will showcase the work of artist Chelsea Davies, who has returned to Langworthy Cornerstone with a drive to display Salford\u2019s rich history.<\/p>\n

Throughout her artwork she has adapted a unique style to her work, depicting historical landmarks as well as capturing the everyday life of Salford.<\/p>\n

Guests who visit the exhibition in Langworthy will be able to see her use of bright and capturing colours, creating work that distances itself from fine art, making her work fun and accessible.<\/p>\n

Chelsea said: \u201cIt\u2019s not everyone\u2019s cup of tea, but it\u2019s what I love to paint.\u201d<\/p>\n

Using history in her work, the exhibition will also depict famous Salfordians, including LS Lowry and Shelagh Delaney to showcase the talent and the art from Salford.<\/p>\n

Chelsea continued: \u201cThese are the stories kids in the area need to be hearing.\u00a0I was born in Salford and there\u2019s so much stuff I had never heard of growing up around here.\u201d<\/p>\n

And through the use of her unique art style, and choice of neon colours, Chelsea hopes that she is able to showcase the past to the younger generations.<\/p>\n

However, she will also still be using the themes to connect with the older Salford audiences, as she added: \u201cI think adults couldn\u2019t walk past and miss it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Residents will be able to also see a display of modern life in Salford, seeing artwork that focus on Salford Shopping Centre, local chippies, bus stops and toilets.<\/p>\n

These focuses on Chelsea\u2019s work are always with the intention of showing \u201ca picture of everyday life.\u201d<\/p>\n

The exhibition will run at Langworthy Cornerstone until Thursday 7 August, and will be a centre-piece in the community \u2013 and more of Chelsea\u2019s artwork can be found here.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
