{"id":266977,"date":"2025-07-16T16:07:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-16T16:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/266977\/"},"modified":"2025-07-16T16:07:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-16T16:07:09","slug":"jockeys-versus-horsemen-charity-game-set-for-wednesday-august-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/266977\/","title":{"rendered":"Jockeys versus horsemen charity game set for Wednesday, August 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 16th annual jockeys-versus-horsemen charity basketball game, which benefits the programs of the New York Race Track Chaplaincy, as well as\u00a0the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund, (PDJF)\u00a0will be played Wednesday, August 6th, 2025 at the Saratoga Springs Recreation Center at 7 p.m., it was announced today.<\/p>\n<p>The game, one of the most popular events on the Saratoga social calendar, routinely attracts more than 300 fans. Admission is free.<\/p>\n<p>The jockey team will once again be coached by Hall of Fame jockey \u00c1ngel Cordero Jr.\u00a0Assisting him on the sidelines this year will be Taaj Ridley, the head of player development and assistant coach for the Maine Celtics of the NBA G League.<\/p>\n<p>The horsemen team will be coached for the first time by trainer Kenny McPeek and retired New York-based trainer Rick Schosberg.
