Iga Swiatek and coach Wim Fissette won their first Grand Slam title together at Wimbledon.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Swiatek had previously struggled on grass<\/a>, despite being a former junior Wimbledon<\/a> champion.<\/p>\n

However, that appeared to switch this year, concluding with Swiatek\u2019s dominant Wimbledon final victory over Amanda Anisimova<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This enabled Fissette to achieve a goal he had for Swiatek<\/a>, and he has now sent a message to his player following her sixth Grand Slam victory. <\/p>\n

Fissette joined Swiatek\u2019s team in October<\/a> last year, after she parted ways with her long-term coach Tomasz Wiktorowski.<\/p>\n

The Belgian has previously enjoyed Grand Slam success, with Fissette coaching the likes of Naomi Osaka<\/a>, Angelique Kerber and Kim Clijsters<\/a> before mentoring Swiatek<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, things had not gone quite as smoothly as many had expected, with some calling for Swiatek to part ways with Fissette<\/a> after she saw her Roland Garros<\/a> reign come to an end.<\/p>\n

Not only is Wimbledon the first Grand Slam Swiatek and Fissette<\/a> have won together, but it is also their first title of any sort.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This is something that Fissette pointed out in his Instagram message to Swiatek, as he congratulated his player alongside a series of pictures of them together at Wimbledon.<\/p>\n

What is next for Iga Swiatek and Wim Fissette?<\/p>\n

Swiatek revealed that she has six days off<\/a> after her Wimbledon victory, and she will then look to swiftly turn her attention to the North American hard court swing.<\/p>\n

Following her resurgent form at Wimbledon, Swiatek is now one of the big US Open contenders<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Swiatek is now the world number three after her Wimbledon success, and has even more opportunity to climb the rankings during the North American hard court swing where she only has 430 points to defend.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old did not play at the Canadian Open<\/a> last year, and also does not have any ranking points to defend from the Cincinnati Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Swiatek received a one month ban<\/a> last year after she was found to have the banned substance, trimetazidine, in her system, which was later found to have been through contamination and she was subsequently cleared of any wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

Despite this, Swiatek lost her ranking points from reaching the semifinals at the Cincinnati Open.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
