Celtic\u2019s latest pre-season trip has seen them land in Portugal. <\/strong><\/p>\n

After two friendly games against Queen\u2019s Park and Cork City, which both resulted in wins, Celtic were beaten by Estrela<\/a> over the weekend. <\/p>\n

And now, it\u2019s the toughest test of Brendan Rodgers\u2019 preparations for the new Premiership season because Celtic take on Sporting Lisbon<\/a> on Wednesday evening. <\/p>\n

The match will take place in Lisbon, and inside Est\u00e1dio Nacional, a place that is steeped rich and deep into Celtic\u2019s history<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Celtic\u2019s greatest achievement<\/a> is winning the 1967 European Cup, when the famous Lisbon Lions<\/a> triumphed against Inter. <\/p>\n

Given that the champions of Scotland<\/a> are in that very place for pre-season, the players and staff decided to walk out onto the pitch for a \u2018special moment\u2019. <\/p>\n

Celtic fans react to players and staff honouring the Lisbon Lions <\/p>\n

There will be some new Celtic<\/a> players who don\u2019t even know about the club\u2019s European history, so this is a great lesson for them. <\/p>\n

Yes, these are heights Celtic won\u2019t reach again, but unlike others, who will never reach it, at least those in green and white can celebrate it. <\/p>\n

And the fans did just that on social media. <\/p>\n
