Just months out from their massive showdown, Terence Crawford has been backed to bring a stern test to Canelo Alvarez in their blockbuster.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Making a move to super middleweight in September, unbeaten megastar Crawford will challenge Mexican icon, Canelo for the undisputed crown<\/a>. <\/p>\n

And with much made of Crawford\u2019s size coming up a weight division compared to former light heavyweight champion, Canelo \u2014 the Omaha native has nevertheless been offered some encouragement.<\/p>\n

Bernard Hopkins claims Terence Crawford has a big chance to defeat Canelo Alvarez<\/p>\n

But one name backing Crawford to potentially upset the apple cart in his title charge is veteran icon Bernard Hopkins<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Moving up from welterweight in pursuit of his long-mooted pairing with Canelo, Crawford has been praised for making such a climb by \u2018The Executioner\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe (Terence Crawford) has a chance [to beat Canelo Alvarez] \u2014 he has a great chance,\u201d Hopkins told Boxing News. \u201cBecause of his heart, his talent, and also his game plan. And his strategy.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cBut Canelo is no pushover. \u2026Again, the best is fighting the best. Crawford is daring to be great. And this is one of the ways that you do it. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou tell the world; watch, pay attention and watch me make history.\u201d<\/p>\n

But despite Philly favorite Hopkins\u2019 confidence in Crawford, the Nebraska pugilist has openly not been as optimistic.<\/p>\n

Terence Crawford plays down confidence in toppling Canelo Alvarez<\/p>\n

Moving up three weight divisions in search of a third championship win, Crawford remained candid of his chances of defeating the Jalisco icon.<\/p>\n

Confident nonetheless, Crawford admitted, however, he was not hinging all his hopes on simply upsetting Canelo \u2014 leaving room for the possibility of some adversity.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe never 100%, I\u2019mma say 70%. I\u2019m always high on confidence,\u201d Crawford told The Ring. \u201cif you don\u2019t have confidence in yourself, then why should anybody else believe in you?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
