Wales experienced a scorching heatwave last week and was actually the hottest place in the UK on Saturday (July 12) with temperatures reaching a very warm 33\u00b0C, but it didn&#8217;t last too long.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">While rain is on the way, Wales is on the verge of a new heatwave, but <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/news\/wales-news\/met-office-weather-maps-show-32062133\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">sadly rain is on the way just in time for the start of the summer holidays<\/a>. Instead, the break looks like they it start of with miserable <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/all-about\/wales-weather\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">weather<\/a>, with a risk of thunder and hail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A UK heatwave threshold is met when a location records a period of at least three consecutive days with daily maximum temperatures meeting or exceeding the heatwave temperature threshold, which is 25\u00b0C in Wales. Temperatures in parts of the country including Monmouth, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/all-about\/newport\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Newport<\/a>, and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/all-about\/wrexham\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Wrexham<\/a>, are forecast to hit 24-25\u00b0C on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. However, there will be patchy rain from Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The Met Office forecast for Thursday: &#8220;Cloudy start with patchy rain and drizzle across the hills. Brighter spells breaking through during the afternoon as coastal and hill fog lifts, though ongoing chance of a shower. Humid. Maximum temperature 25 \u00b0C.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">However, from Friday, it&#8217;s set to get even wetter. The forecast says: &#8220;Warm with further scattered showers on Friday before becoming more widely unsettled from Saturday. Showers may be heavy or blustery at times, carrying the risk of thunder and hail.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Here are the weather maps for the next few days:<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Thursday &#8211; 11am<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">There will be heavy rain across most of Wales on Thursday.
