Police have made an arrest in a murder probe after a man was fatally attacked in a street.<\/p>\n

Craig Dean was attacked in Springfield Road, Kings Heath, at around 5pm on Monday, 7 July. The 53-year-old, known as ‘Yankee’, died in hospital two days later.<\/p>\n

Detectives investigating his death today, Wednesday, July 16, arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of murder. Three others were being held on suspicion of assisting an offender<\/p>\n

West Midlands Police<\/a> said: “A 23-year-old man has today been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man, found with serious injuries in Kings Heath<\/a>, tragically died.<\/p>\n

“The 23-year-old was detained earlier today and remains in police custody as investigators continue with enquiries.”<\/p>\n

Three other people, two men aged 23 and 31 and a woman, aged 34, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They also remained in custody this evening.<\/p>\n

The family of Mr Dean were being kept informed and are being offered support, police said.<\/p>\n

“Our thoughts remain with Mr Dean’s loved ones and we are continuing with our work to establish exactly what happened,” said Det Insp Dan Jarratt, who is leading the investigation.<\/p>\n

“The investigation is moving at pace and we’d ask anyone who we’ve not yet spoken with, but who thinks they can help, to get in touch.”<\/p>\n

Officers are particularly interested in anyone with CCTV, dashcam doorbell or mobile phone footage. They said: “We’d ask you share it here https:\/\/mipp.police.uk\/operation\/20HQ25A13-PO1<\/a> rather than publicly.<\/p>\n
