Jordan Spieth has revealed he is not part of the new revolution at Rangers<\/a>, writes Craig Swan from Portrush<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The American and his compatriot Justin Thomas got involved two years ago as the 49ers group moved in to take charge of affairs at Leeds United<\/a>.<\/p>\n Naturally, when the American group moved into position at Ibrox, it was believed that the golf pair could have some involvement.<\/p>\n However, Thomas revealed to Record Sport at Renaissance last week<\/a> prior to the Genesis Scottish Open that he wasn\u2019t aware of the 49ers\u2019 move into Rangers and wasn\u2019t involved.<\/p>\n Spieth has now done the same in his build-up to The Open<\/a> at Royal Portrush. Told about the takeover, he said: \u201cOh, have they, okay.\u201d<\/p>\n When it was put to Spieth that, like Thomas, involvement with Leeds brought some conclusions they would in some way be connected to the Rangers takeover.<\/p>\n But Spieth responded: \u201cNo, they did a new raise for Leeds and we both got in on the new raise because it\u2019s already been, you know, it\u2019s been solid and, hopefully, they can stay up.<\/p>\n “But no. They had options, the 49ers were looking in various other markets, I think.
