However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/five-manchester-united-players-wont-return-for-pre-season-next-week-after-club-decision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United have five players who are set to leave<\/a> no matter what.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"inline-links multi\">\n<li>Alejandro Garnacho<\/li>\n<li>Antony<\/li>\n<li>Jadon Sancho<\/li>\n<li>Marcus Rashford<\/li>\n<li>Tyrell Malacia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All five have been told to train seperately from their teammates this summer and instead focus on finding themselves a transfer. This, forming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/opinion\/the-chelsea-bomb-squad-lesson-for-manchester-united-and-ineos-in-summer-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United\u2019s very own \u2018bomb squad\u2019<\/a>, mimicking Chelsea\u2019s from last summer.<\/p>\n<p>Now, United have set a lofty price tag on one of these five.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-2216902982-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Antony pointing to the sky facing away from camera in Real Betis kit.\" class=\"wp-image-274357\" \/>Photo by Alexandra Fechete\/MB Media\/Getty ImagesManchester United set lofty Antony demand amid Premier League interest<\/p>\n<p>The five players who have been exiled have no futures at Old Trafford for one reason or another, which makes it imperative to find a move.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/argentine-journalist-claims-man-utd-closing-in-on-alejandro-garnacho-solution-its-one-step-away\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alejandro Garnacho is reportedly close to Aston Villa<\/a>, which is also rumoured to be a loan move for the 21-year-old Argentine. Now, the future of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/antony\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Antony<\/a> has also had an update.<\/p>\n<p>It comes according to the reliable Brazilian outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uol.com.br\/esporte\/colunas\/mercado-da-bola\/2025\/07\/16\/manchester-united-quer-cerca-de-r-370-milhoes-para-vender-antony.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">UOL<\/a>, that United have raised the asking price for Antony.<\/p>\n<p>United are now set to demand a fee of \u20ac58m or \u00a350m in order to sell the Brazil international this summer after he revitalised his career on loan with Real Betis during the second half of last season.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/real-betis-confident-man-utd-will-give-in-to-antony-deal-transfer-operation-is-moving-slowly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Betis have long been frontrunners for Antony<\/a>, however, this new price tag is almost certainly beyond their means this summer and the UOL report names four other clubs interested in the winger.<\/p>\n<p>In the Premier League, Newcastle United and Brighton were reported to be interested parties in the Brazilian, which would certainly be interesting options for Antony, no matter how unlikely they may seem.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally there is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/bayer-leverkusen-eye-antony-as-potential-florian-wirtz-replacement-erik-ten-hag-could-reunite-with-82m-signing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bundesliga interest in Antony from Erik ten Hag\u2019s Bayer Leverkusen<\/a> side along with RB Leipzig. Ten Hag\u2019s hopes of a reunion will have taken a hit after the asking price increase and also the surprise Premier League interest.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a350m for Antony would be a dream for Manchester United<\/p>\n<p>Six months ago, United would likely have accepted \u00a315m for Antony after two disaster seasons in England, however the loan to Spain changed his career trajectory.<\/p>\n<p>Antony could very well fetch close to \u00a350m in this market, as he proved in his time at Betis that he is a very good footballer, just not for United.<\/p>\n<p>Right now, Antony maintains a book value of \u00a334.4m which means receiving \u00a350m would mean a \u00a315.6m profit in terms of his book value which would look excellent for PSR.<\/p>\n<p>This would not only allow United to spend the cash, but also would mean breathing room in PSR terms for Ineos in this new financial window.<\/p>\n<p>Whether or not \u00a350m is realistic remains to be seen, but anywhere close to this would be a massive plus for United.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Before the transfer window opened, it was suggested that Manchester United wanted to sell half the squad.
