Nick Kyrgios has developed into one of the most prominent voices in tennis during his time off the court.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Australian player has struggled with injuries since reaching the Wimbledon final in 2022, where he lost to Novak Djokovic<\/a> in four sets.<\/p>\n

However, Kyrgios has utilised his time off the court well, recently forming part of TNT Sports\u2019 trio of Wimbledon pundits alongside Dan Evans and Coco Vandeweghe.<\/p>\n

Speaking on a recent talk show, Kyrgios pinpointed a player in whom he sees a little bit of himself.<\/p>\n

Nick Kyrgios says Holger Rune makes him \u2018angry\u2019 when watching him play<\/p>\n

Speaking on the UTS Talk Show<\/a> with Serena Williams\u2019 former coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, Kyrgios named Holger Rune as a player he wants to do well. However, Kyrgios said he gets \u2018angry\u2019 when he watches the young Danish star play.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the show, which was recorded before Wimbledon, Kyrgios<\/a> said: \u201cHolger, I feel frustrated. I haven\u2019t heard much of him, which is new for me. Holger \u2013 usually there is something in the media.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t seen him, which is almost a good thing in a way, because I think for him when he stays under the radar and I don\u2019t hear about Holger it\u2019s a good thing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always want him to do well because we had a relationship, I think when I see him I see a little bit of myself. He has got that switch on the court. He has got a real a** in him. But I want to see him do well.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has got a great game, he can play well anywhere. He just gets a bit defensive, he loves to run. But he could play so aggressively. I get angry when I watch him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want him to do well but he has got a bit of a target on his back too, I think.\u201d<\/p>\n

Holger Rune\u2019s disappointing Wimbledon<\/p>\n

Holger Rune was tipped as one of this generation\u2019s next best players alongside Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. While he has reached the ATP top 10, he has not quite hit the heights of his high-flying peers.<\/p>\n

The Dane suffered a tough loss in the Wimbledon first round, losing to qualifier Nicolas Jarry 6-4 6-4 5-7 3-6 4-6. However, it was revealed that Rune was suffering from a knee injury.<\/p>\n

After the match, Rune issued a fiery response, saying: \u201cIn normal conditions, I\u2019d beat him nine times out of ten, with all due respect to Nicol\u00e1s Jarry. Obviously, I didn\u2019t have it easy today with my knee, but yes, it wasn\u2019t a great match.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rune later offered an update on X [Twitter], saying: \u201cNot a happy ending for me on the grass this year . Will have my knee checked and keep you updated.\u201c<\/p>\n
