It is not uncommon for players to wear the shirts of different football clubs \u2013 and Manchester City youngster Rico Lewis has been seen wearing a Wolves jersey.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Currently, the Wolves<\/a> players are back in pre-season training and are being put through their paces out in Portugal.<\/p>\n

The team had their first game of the training camp against Santa Clara on Tuesday, and suffered a 2-1 defeat.<\/p>\n

Vitor Pereira<\/a> won\u2019t be overly concerned by the result, especially as there were some very positive signs in the game.<\/p>\n

Fer Lopez was praised for his lively display<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sasa Kalajdzic also came in fair praise for his display<\/a>, which featured a well-taken goal.<\/p>\n

One team who are not currently in pre-season is Manchester City, who only just finished their 2024\/25 campaign having been at the Club World Cup.<\/p>\n

A lot of their players are currently on their holidays, and one of those is Rico Lewis \u2013 who, like the Wolves players, is also in Portugal right now.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Rico Lewis uploaded a picture of himself on his Instagram Story<\/a> wearing a Wolves shirt.<\/p>\n

And while some may like to hope Lewis likes Wolves, the reason for this decision is probably much more simplistic.<\/p>\n

The Wolves shirt he had on has \u2018FORBS 26\u2019 emblazoned on the back.<\/p>\n

Lewis knows Forbs very well from their time in the Manchester City academy together. The pair played for both the U18s and the U23s.<\/p>\n

While Lewis was able to kick on and become part of City\u2019s first-team squad, Forbs left the club in the summer of 2023 to join Ajax. <\/p>\n

Despite going their separate ways, Lewis and Forbs have remained good friends, with Lewis tagging him in an Instagram post<\/a> earlier this year after a game between the England U21s and Portugal.<\/p>\n

Forbs had been quite prolific in City\u2019s academy, but couldn\u2019t quite show the same cutting edge for the Dutch giants in his first season playing senior football.<\/p>\n

Wolves then took Forbs on loan<\/a> in 2024\/25 season, but it was an unsuccessful spell, with the forward making just 11 appearances.<\/p>\n

At the end of the 2024\/25 campaign, Wolves announced that Forbs would head back to Ajax, declining the chance to trigger their option to buy clause.<\/p>\n

But now, the winger is set for another new chapter.<\/p>\n

Carlos Forbs to join Club Brugge after Wolves misery<\/p>\n

Last week, it was reported that Club Brugge had made an offer for Forbs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The situation has moved fairly quickly, and it was reported by Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday that Forbs is joining the Belgian side on a permanent deal.<\/p>\n

He is transferring for a fee of around \u00a37.3 million in total, which is a fairly decent sale from Ajax considering how little Forbs featured for Wolves.<\/p>\n

The player had his medical today, and an official announcement is expected very soon.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t work out for Forbs at Molineux, and at one point Pereira did suggest the system just didn\u2019t suit Forbs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wolves were right not to buy him, and hopefully he can now enjoy some success elsewhere \u2013 although fans will really hope he doesn\u2019t turn out to be another Vitinha.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
