A roadblock was placed by police around a Welsh city as the force searched for a wanted man. North Wales Police began stopping cars in Bangor<\/a> after they were alerted to a sighting of a man wanted in connection with a number of allegations.<\/p>\n Jerry Berry, 39, has been wanted by North Wales Police for several weeks for offences including burglary and theft. The wanted man who has links to Wrexham<\/a> and Flintshire<\/a> was arrested by police after he was seen in the Bangor area.<\/p>\n Routes in and out of the city were cordoned off on Wednesday, July 16 as the police searched for the man. Jerry Berry, 39, has since been arrested on Bangor High Street on suspicion of multiple offences including burglary and theft.<\/p>\n “Earlier this afternoon, a roadblock was put in place in Bangor where searches on all vehicles entering and leaving the city to locate Berry, who was involved in a pursuit with officers earlier in the day.”<\/p>\n District Inspector Jamie Owens said: “I\u2019d like to thank the public for their co-operation and patience while we dealt with this incident.<\/p>\n “I understand the large police presence would have been concerning to residents, but I would like to reassure the community that this has resulted in the effective arrest of Berry, who is now on his way to custody.”<\/p>\n Get daily breaking news<\/strong> updates on your phone by joining our WhatsApp community here<\/a>.
