{"id":268774,"date":"2025-07-17T07:53:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-17T07:53:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/268774\/"},"modified":"2025-07-17T07:53:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-17T07:53:09","slug":"mother-condemns-mindless-grave-vandalism-at-sheffield-cemetery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/268774\/","title":{"rendered":"Mother condemns &#8216;mindless&#8217; grave vandalism at Sheffield cemetery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Officers confirmed they received reports of criminal damage from 3 to 4 July at Crookes Cemetery. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Mrs Grayson said that while the cemetery management were &#8220;very kind&#8221;, the onus was on the grave owner to repair any damage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Putting things right will come later on &#8211; we just want to catch who did it,&#8221; she explained.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">She hopes any witnesses will have the &#8220;courage and conscience&#8221; to come forward and help the police so that the cemetery can be restored to a &#8220;peaceful and calm place&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">South Yorkshire Police said: &#8220;Inquiries are ongoing and if anyone has any information, please get in touch.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The BBC has also contacted Sheffield City Council for comment. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Officers confirmed they received reports of criminal damage from 3 to 4 July at Crookes Cemetery.
