Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn’s fierce rivalry may end after just one fight.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When the rivals first went toe-to-toe on April 26 from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it was Eubank who won via unanimous decision<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Their bout reignited the Eubank-Benn family feud<\/a>, taking place three decades after their fathers Chris Eubank Snr and Nigel Benn first fought.<\/p>\n

Many had predicted that their contest would not reach the later rounds \u2014 yet it did.<\/p>\n

After an explosive performance across 12 gruelling rounds, a devastated Benn was beaten, and left the ring having pushed Eubank to the brink.<\/p>\n

With a date for the rematch originally set for September 20<\/a>, talks were believed to be moving towards completion <\/p>\n

But now it appears the bout is close to collapse with Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh and Riyadh Season withdrawing their support from the event.<\/p>\n

The post reads: “Sources have informed The Ring that both Riyadh Season and Sela are no longer involved in the rematch between Chris Eubank<\/a> Jr and Conor Benn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“The Ring has no involvement in the Eubank-Benn rematch.”<\/p>\n

While Eubank is yet to comment on the matter, The Ring’s first post was followed up with an official statement from Benn on X.<\/p>\n

Benn stated: “This rematch falling apart had nothing to do with me.<\/p>\n

“I was ready to go on the scheduled Sept 20th date. I’m not sure
what happened to Chris Eubank.”<\/p>\n

Eubank took a lot of financial hits in their first bout.<\/p>\n

He was firstly fined \u00a3375,000 for narrowly missing the 160lb weight limit at time of the official weigh-in. <\/p>\n

Although, on the morning of the fight he did make the rehydration weight of 170lbs so the bout could go ahead. <\/p>\n

It was shown via his social media that Eubank had used a sauna to cut weight, a prohibited method by the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC). <\/p>\n

The 35-year-old had to appear before the BBBofC earlier this month and received an additional \u00a310,000 fine<\/a> for his misuse of social media. <\/p>\n

The charge ultimately stemmed from the aforementioned video that was posted on Eubank’s social media ahead of their April fight. <\/p>\n

There have been huge concerns over Eubank Jr’s weight and a potential rehydration clause for the sequel, which have plunged it into doubt.<\/p>\n

Benn’s promoter, Eddie Hearn<\/a>, told talkSPORT\u00a0Drive on Wednesday afternoon that his fighter would be open to face one of big names<\/a> that are seeking a contest with The Destroyer.<\/p>\n

That list includes Shakur Stevenson, who secured a dazzling unanimous decision win over William Zepeda last weekend.<\/p>\n

Hearn said: “So if we don’t get Eubank and he chooses to duck out of the fight, then why not Shakur Stevenson later in the year?”<\/p>\n

The American currently boasts a perfect professional record at 24-0 and fights in the lightweight division.<\/p>\n
