When Prince Harry<\/a> and Meghan Markle<\/a> left the British royal family and moved to the US, they likely didn\u2019t imagine not coming back to the UK. Prince Harry lived his entire life in the UK before, and though he is no longer a working royal, he still has deep ties to the country he was born in. Add to that his father, King Charles\u2019 illness, and the recent reports that the two are closer to reconciliation than ever, and it\u2019s fair to wonder if Harry could or would want to move back to the UK.<\/p>\n

Recent reports indicate the Prince is \u201cvery likely\u201d to enroll his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet<\/a>, in a UK school, despite his wife\u2019s objections to the idea. This is reportedly related to the fact that he wants to keep the door open for his kids to stay in the UK if they so wish.<\/p>\n

Grant Harrold, former royal butler to King Charles<\/a>, said that Harry is \u201cquite keen\u201d for his children to experience British schooling in an interview with Study Dog, per\u00a0Hello!<\/a>\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s very likely and completely possible,\u201d he said. But of course, that might all depend on how those reconciliation talks go.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they have their younger education in America, I\u2019m sure their father will be quite keen to have a bit of a British education,\u201d he added. \u201cBut then it depends on how the relationship is with the rest of the family when the time comes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Markle, however, had previously said in a 2022 interview with The Cut, that she would not want Archie to go to school in the UK, as she wouldn\u2019t be able to drop him off and pick him up at school without having to deal with paparazzi. \u201cSorry,\u201d Meghan said, per Hello! \u201cI have a problem with that. That doesn\u2019t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child.\u201d<\/p>\n

This comes after last month, the Guardian<\/a>\u00a0reported that Prince Harry wanted his kids to have the opportunity to become working royals in the future if they wanted. The outlet said, \u201cPrince Harry wants to keep the HRH [His\/Her Royal Highness] titles for his children so that when they grow older, they can decide for themselves whether they want to become working royals, or stay out of public life.\u201d<\/p>\n

When that was reported, however, The Daily Beast<\/a> reported that a source close to Prince William dismissed the idea. \u201cWilliam obviously isn\u2019t going to hire Archie and Lilibet,\u201d the source said. \u201cThis is just trolling on the part of Harry and Meghan. \u2026 The idea that somehow having a vestigial HRH as a baby later entitles you to be a working royal is beyond parody, even for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

All of these reports happened before Prince Harry and King Charles\u2019 aides met<\/a> last week in what is believed to be the first step to resolve the feud between them. \u201cThere\u2019s a long road ahead, but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in years,\u201d said a source. \u201cThere was no formal agenda, just casual drinks. There were things both sides wanted to talk about.\u201d<\/p>\n

If there can really be a reconciliation, that might make the chances of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet attending school in the UK grow exponentially higher. For now, we will just have to wait and see.<\/p>\n
