{"id":269357,"date":"2025-07-17T13:00:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-17T13:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/269357\/"},"modified":"2025-07-17T13:00:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-17T13:00:10","slug":"how-much-money-men-who-helped-bring-drugs-into-north-wales-must-repay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/269357\/","title":{"rendered":"How much money men who helped bring drugs into North Wales must repay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The cases of Lee Taylor, of Chester Hotel in Chester,\u00a0and Shane McGinn, of Ross Avenue in Leasowe, Merseyside, were heard during a Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) hearing held at Caernarfon Crown Court on Thursday, July 17.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The pair had been part of a conspiracy which saw <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaderlive.co.uk\/news\/24918786.merseyside-north-wales-drugs-enterprise-sentenced\/?callback=in&amp;code=YWJKZWQ3YTETMTJJMI0ZYJA4LTLJNMUTYMEXZDLLNGY4OTE4&amp;state=c2642b1bca04467c9fc53270ca27c786\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">several people jailed for their roles in a criminal enterprise<\/a> which\u00a0saw class A and B drugs brought into\u00a0north Wales.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  In February of this year, 40-year-old Taylor &#8211; defended by John Wyn Williams in court &#8211;\u00a0was jailed for\u00a0five years for conspiracy to supply drugs.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Meanwhile, 37-year-old McGinn was handed an\u00a0eight year jail\u00a0term for\u00a0conspiracy to supply cocaine, amphetamine and class B substances, as well as driving whilst banned.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  At the POCA hearing in Caernarfon, Simon Rogers, prosecuting in the case, explained that the benefit figure of Taylor from the criminal activity\u00a0was agreed as being a sum of \u00a399,325.05.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  However, he had only \u00a31 available, which was\u00a0not to be collected.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Judge Timothy Petts warned however that, should he come into some money in future or have any tucked away, then the prosecution &#8216;can bring him back to court and order him to pay something else&#8217;.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <strong>MORE COURT NEWS<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chesterstandard.co.uk\/news\/25319416.serial-stalker-followed-victim-chester-spared-jail-mold-crown-court\/?rel=cl_lsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Serial stalker followed victim in Chester but is spared jail at Mold Crown Court<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chesterstandard.co.uk\/news\/25319007.newport-man-punched-fellow-resident-smoking-claims-chester-court-told\/?rel=cl_lsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newport man punched fellow resident over smoking claims in Chester, court told<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chesterstandard.co.uk\/news\/25319222.controller-county-lines-gang-cheshire-town-jailed\/?rel=cl_lsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Controller of county lines gang in Cheshire town jailed<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  It was agreed that McGinn, represented by Sophie Evans, had a benefit figure of\u00a0\u00a3427,192.04\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He was ordered to pay back the available amount of\u00a0\u00a3196.29.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Further cases of Sarfraz Patel, of &#8230;
