{"id":270510,"date":"2025-07-17T23:05:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-17T23:05:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/270510\/"},"modified":"2025-07-17T23:05:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-17T23:05:09","slug":"man-charged-under-terrorism-act-over-displaying-palestine-action-poster-in-window-of-glasgow-property","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/270510\/","title":{"rendered":"Man charged under Terrorism Act over &#8216;displaying Palestine Action poster&#8217; in window of Glasgow property"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A MAN accused of displaying a poster supporting Palestine Action has been charged under the Terrorism Act.<\/p>\n<p>The 38-year-old suspect was arrested in the south side of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/where\/glasgow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Glasgow<\/a> yesterday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Police body camera and radio.\" height=\"662\" width=\"960\" data-credit=\"Alamy\" data-img=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/3a814dp-file-photo-dated-26-993412206_1e6acf.jpg\" data-caption=\"A man has been charged under the Terrorism Act over allegedly displaying a Palestine Action poster\"   loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/3a814dp-file-photo-dated-26-993412206_1e6acf.jpg\" role=\"img\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>1<\/p>\n<p>A man has been charged under the Terrorism Act over allegedly displaying a Palestine Action posterCredit: Alamy<\/p>\n<p>It is understood that the alleged poster was displayed in the window of a property in the city&#8217;s Shawlands area.<\/p>\n<p>Police have charged the man under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/terrorism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Terrorism<\/a> Act 2000.<\/p>\n<p>He is expected to appear in court at a later date and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.<\/p>\n<p>Palestine Action has been proscribed as a terrorist group by the UK Government.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/police-scotland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Police Scotland<\/a> spokesperson said: \u201cOn Wednesday, 16 July, 2025, a 38-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with an offence under the Terrorism Act 2000 for displaying a poster expressing support for a proscribed organisation at a property in the Shawlands area of Glasgow.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He is due to appear in court at a later date.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/news\/15084777\/palestine-protesters-van-fence-defence-factory-edinburgh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">three women were arrested<\/a> under the Terrorism Act after a van crashed into a security fence at a defence firm in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/where\/edinburgh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Edinburgh<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In May, Irish rap crew <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/tvandshowbiz\/14721839\/kneecap-axed-trnsmt-glasgow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kneecap were axed<\/a> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thescottishsun.co.uk\/topic\/trnsmt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TRNSMT<\/a> festival lineup after one of its members was charged over an alleged terror offence.<\/p>\n<p>Palestine Action was banned earlier this month after a vote in the House of Commons.<\/p>\n<p>We let our 12ft SNAKE roam street &#8211; neighbours are terrified but she&#8217;s harmless<\/p>\n<p>It is illegal to be a member of the group or publicly express support for it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A MAN accused of displaying a poster supporting Palestine Action has been charged under the Terrorism Act.
