A bus stop was also demolished.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.burnham-on-sea.com\/news\/broadband-outage-hits-burnham-on-sea-residents-after-road-crash\/attachment\/img_8296\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-219508 noopener\" data-slb-active=\"1\" data-slb-asset=\"662392401\" data-slb-internal=\"219508\" data-slb-group=\"219506\" target=\"_blank\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-219508\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IMG_8296.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1068\" height=\"726\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Virgin Media told Burnham-On-Sea.com: \u201cWe\u2019re aware that a small number of customers in Burnham-On-Sea are experiencing issues with their broadband services, due to a road traffic accident which has damaged some of our equipment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur teams are waiting for the local power company to confirm the site is safe and will then repair the damage and restore customers\u2019 services as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.burnham-on-sea.com\/news\/broadband-outage-hits-burnham-on-sea-residents-after-road-crash\/attachment\/img_8294-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-219510 noopener\" data-slb-active=\"1\" data-slb-asset=\"1843211701\" data-slb-internal=\"219510\" data-slb-group=\"219506\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-219510\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IMG_8294.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1068\" height=\"706\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Virgin Media said its teams were standing by to begin the repair work on Thursday afternoon, but due to the scale of the damage, restoration efforts cannot begin until the site was declared safe by the local power company \u2014 a process that may take several days.<\/p>\n<p>A Police spokesperson added that a man has been arrested on suspicion of a drug-driving offence following the crash. \u201cHe was taken to hospital as a precaution before being transported to custody. He has since been released under investigation. Enquiries continue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) added: \u201cWe were called at 5.25pm on Wednesday 16th July to an incident in Burnham-On-Sea.
