MOBO award winning rapper Giggs talks us through his guide to London, from working at McDonald\u2019s in Peckham to dining at Stork in Mayfair.<\/p>\n

Where was your first flat?<\/p>\n
Technically, my first proper job was working with my dad. He used to do deliveries and removals \u2014 furniture and helping people move house. So that was actually my first job, but my first job-job was at McDonald\u2019s in Peckham. <\/p>\n
I like to go all out on a date… maybe a private room in Stork or Cecconi\u2019s <\/p>\n
Where would you recommend for a first date? <\/p>\n
I like to go all out on a date, so maybe Cecconi\u2019s or Stork in Mayfair, in a private room. Or, an Everyman cinema. That\u2019s a great date spot. There\u2019s a bar and you can order food, it\u2019s a chilled night. There are sofas in there and all that. You can just relax. <\/p>\n
Where would you buy a present for a partner?<\/p>\n
I\u2019d probably go anywhere on Bond Street<\/a>. All the tough guys, they go to Selfridges<\/a> and Harrods, but Bond Street is a more mature kind of thing. <\/p>\n Old Bond Street shop, London, 2025<\/p>\n Rolex\/Matthieu Gafsou<\/p>\n Which shops do you rely on?<\/p>\n I guess Tesco and the petrol station. And Next, for stuff for me and the kids. I do like Dolce and Gabbana<\/a>, and Selfridges. When people come over they always want to go to Selfridges, so I end up there.<\/p>\n What\u2019s the best meal you\u2019ve had?<\/p>\n I do love Italian but I\u2019m Caribbean, so that\u2019s what it\u2019s got to be. One of my favourites is in Peckham, a spot called Daphanie\u2019s. They\u2019ve got some fire barbecue chicken. I will always travel back down to Peckham to go and get it if I\u2019m ever nearby.<\/p>\n What would you do if you were Mayor for the day? <\/p>\n I\u2019d probably make it a day off for everyone. And I\u2019d give everyone \u201cday off\u201d money too, probably a couple of hundred pounds for a nice day off. Actually, that\u2019s too much \u2014 a hundred pounds. I\u2019d put on a little carnival as well.<\/p>\n Who is the most iconic Londoner in history?<\/p>\n That\u2019s a tough one. It\u2019s London! You\u2019ve got Chris Eubank, or Adele who\u2019s iconic for music. One of the princes, I like them. Let me say Prince Harry.<\/p>\n Adele\u2019s iconic for music<\/p>\n Gareth Cattermole\/Getty Images f<\/p>\n Where do you go and what do you do to have fun?<\/p>\n I don\u2019t really go anywhere to be honest. I like to stay out of the way. If I\u2019m in London, I just have my own party. My own private party. Somewhere extravagant and over the top.<\/p>\n What\u2019s the best thing a cabbie has ever said to you?<\/p>\n Have you ever had a run-in with a police officer? <\/p>\n What\u2019s your biggest extravagance? <\/p>\n Travelling<\/a>. Going on a big trip somewhere. I like to go anywhere and see somewhere new. I want to go to Singapore<\/a> next.<\/p>\n I used to collect records back in the day. I was a DJ so I used to have hundreds of thousands of records and then I stopped DJing and started rapping. When I moved out of my mum\u2019s, all the records disappeared. Obviously you know how it goes, you move out and she probably threw them all in the bin. That\u2019s probably the last thing I\u2019ve ever collected.<\/p>\n What\u2019s your favourite work of art or building?<\/p>\n I like Canary Wharf. It\u2019s not that I go there very much, but I like the look of it.
