{"id":271681,"date":"2025-07-18T09:30:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-18T09:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/271681\/"},"modified":"2025-07-18T09:30:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T09:30:11","slug":"tina-fey-charlie-brooker-set-for-edinburgh-tv-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/271681\/","title":{"rendered":"Tina Fey, Charlie Brooker Set for Edinburgh TV Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/tina-fey\/\" id=\"auto-tag_tina-fey_1\" data-tag=\"tina-fey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tina Fey<\/a> and Black Mirror creator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/charlie-brooker\/\" id=\"auto-tag_charlie-brooker_1\" data-tag=\"charlie-brooker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Charlie Brooker<\/a> have joined the lineup of speakers at this year\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/edinburgh-tv-festival\/\" id=\"auto-tag_edinburgh-tv-festival_1\" data-tag=\"edinburgh-tv-festival\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Edinburgh TV Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHelmed by creative director Rowan Woods and this year\u2019s advisory chair, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/jane-tranter-interview-doctor-who-ai-strikes-bad-wolf-1235612374\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bad Wolf CEO Jane Tranter<\/a>, the line-up for the 50th edition of the fest includes masterclasses, \u201cIn Conversation\u201d sessions and keynote speeches, including the prestigious James MacTaggart Memorial Lecture.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tU.S. comedian, actress and producer Fey will bring her distinct charm to a lively conversation with beloved broadcaster Graham Norton on Friday, Aug. 22, while Brooker \u2014\u00a0lauded as the creator of one of the U.K.\u2019s most impactful television in the last 10 years \u2014 will also have his own In Conversation session, covering everything from comedy and AI to evil production design and the TV shows that made him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe\u00a0alternative MacTaggart will be given by satirist, comedian, writer and actor Munya Chawawa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAmong other sessions will be deep-dive explorations of the success of Adolescence, Rivals and Last One Laughing, as well as events with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/shonda-rhimes-edinburgh-tv-festival-inaugural-fellowship-1236297006\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shonda Rhimes<\/a>, who will be receiving the inaugural Edinburgh Fellowship, Lenny Henry, receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award and Michael Sheen, who will be in conversation with Tranter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWoods and Tranter said about the annual Scottish TV event, running Aug. 19-22 this year and presented by Screen Scotland, \u201cThis year\u2019s program contains all the attributes and\u00a0tonal variations\u00a0of great TV: it\u2019s inspiring, thought-provoking, entertaining, attitudinal, glamorous, inclusive and actively relevant to our current challenging landscape.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThey concluded: \u201cThe 50th\u00a0anniversary is a moment to look back and celebrate how far we\u2019ve come, and the many people who\u2019ve contributed to this remarkable legacy; but it\u2019s also an opportunity to look forward and ask what the future of British television looks like, how we define it, protect it and evolve it to meet the challenges ahead.
