{"id":271843,"date":"2025-07-18T10:54:13","date_gmt":"2025-07-18T10:54:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/271843\/"},"modified":"2025-07-18T10:54:13","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T10:54:13","slug":"former-england-footballer-paul-ince-given-12-month-drink-driving-ban-paul-ince","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/271843\/","title":{"rendered":"Former England footballer Paul Ince given 12-month drink-driving ban | Paul Ince"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">The former England footballer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/paul-ince\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paul Ince<\/a> has been banned from driving and ordered to pay \u00a37,085 for drink-driving.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">The 57-year-old appeared at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/uk\/chester\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chester<\/a> magistrates court on Friday where he admitted driving his Range Rover while over the limit on 28 June in Neston, Cheshire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">Judge McGarva told Ince: \u201cThe message has got to be if you\u2019re going to drive, you don\u2019t drink at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined \u00a35,000 and ordered to pay a \u00a32,000 statutory surcharge and \u00a385 costs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">Arriving at court, he signed an autograph for a fan and posed for a selfie with another.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">The former West Ham, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Liverpool midfielder won 53 caps for his country.
