Police are investigating after the discovery of ‘suspected bones’ buried in a back garden.<\/p>\n
The Manchester Evening News understands a landscape gardener made the discovery and alerted police.<\/p>\n
A police scene was in place in Oldham<\/a> today, Friday, police said. One witness claimed police tents had been put up in the garden.<\/p>\n It’s not known whether what has been found are definitely bones. It is unclear whether the suspected bones are animal or human, Greater Manchester Police<\/a> said.<\/p>\n A process of assessment is due to take place, followed by forensic analysis if they’re determined to be bones.<\/p>\n GMP said officers were called to Fourth Avenue, in the Limeside area of Oldham, ‘following reports of suspected bones being discovered’ at around 3.30pm on Thursday.<\/p>\n Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The gardener is understood to have told police he believed they were bones.<\/p>\n Enquiries were continuing and no further details have been confirmed by GMP.
