The Princess Royal has been given a special honour in recognition of her milestone birthday. The Royal Mint announced that the very first coin featuring Princess Anne\u2019s face has been created to recognise her 75th birthday on 15 August.<\/p>\n

The King<\/a>\u2019s sister Princess Anne is often dubbed the nation\u2019s \u2018hardest-working Royal\u2019 due to the high number of public engagements and commitments she undertakes, which have continued into her 70s. The new coin recognises her service, as it\u2019s minted with the words \u2018duty and devotion\u2019 around the perimeter, along with the words \u2018Princess Royal\u2019 and \u2018celebrating 75 years\u2019. <\/p>\n

The centre of the coin features an embossing of Princess Anne\u2019s face, based on a portrait by John Swannell, and her official coat of arms is also included in the design. <\/p>\n

The Royal Family announced the new coin in a joint post with the Royal Mint, which invited the nation to celebrate Princess Anne\u2019s recognition: \u2018Join us as we celebrate Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal as she marks her milestone 75th birthday with the first UK coin made in her honour.\u2019<\/p>\n

This week, Princess Anne was continuing her royal duties by taking part in a salute at the Household Division Musical Spectacular 2025 at Horse Guards Parade on Wednesday (16 July). The Princess Royal wore a deep blue dress for the occasion and a triple-stranded pearl necklace, which looks as though it could have been the most-worn necklace owned by her late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n

There was also another royal birthday to celebrate this week, as The Queen<\/a> turned 78 on Thursday (18 July). The occasion was marked by a set of new official portraits of Queen Camilla taken in the garden of her private home in Wiltshire. <\/p>\n
