Sheffield Wednesday have had concerns upheld over the North Stand at Hillsborough Stadium, leaving many fans in the dark about the season ahead.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s<\/a> 2025\/26 Championship season preparations have taken a hit after a summer of turmoil.<\/p>\n

On the pitch, things look bleak in S6 with Josh Windass and Michael Smith leaving the club<\/a>, as well as Djeidi Gassama and Anthony Musaba. The likes of Barry Bannan and Callum Paterson\u2019s future at Sheffield Wednesday is also unconfirmed.<\/p>\n

Danny Rohl is also set to leave Sheffield Wednesda<\/a>y this summer, with Henrik Pedersen expected to fill his shoes.<\/p>\n

It isn\u2019t just the players and staff\u2019s future that is in doubt ahead of the new season \u2013 even season ticket holders have no confirmation on where they will sit if they have chosen to be in the North Stand.<\/p>\n

After recent revelations, fans are asking the questions over what happens next if the stand is condemned by the start of the season.<\/p>\n

As reported by the BBC<\/a>, Hillsborough Stadium could be closed for the start of the football season after the city council warned it may not be able to approve the safety certificate necessary for it to be used by fans.<\/p>\n

The report suggested that there was \u201ccurrently no professional reassurance as to the safety of the North Stand structure\u201d, leaving many fans in doubt over whether they will actually be able to sit in their designated seat this season.<\/p>\n

According to Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s FAQ\u2019s, as published on the club website<\/a>, it reads: \u201cThe club reserves the right to re-designate supporters to any area of the ground, be that be for capacity restrictions or social distancing guidelines, and to visiting supporters or otherwise.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIn such an event Season Ticket holders who are affected will be allocated a ticket for the relevant match in an alternative section of the ground should a ballot not be required.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, it is worth taking such a statement with a pinch of salt due to the conditions not being updated for two years, as it also states: \u201cShould COVID-19 restrictions be reintroduced for the 2023\/24 season, we will be adhering to all the latest guidance in line with the Government and EFL\u2019s advice at that time.\u201d<\/p>\n

There is no certainty whether the North Stand will be fit for purpose come the start of the season, but Sheffield Wednesday did specifically request an away tie on the opening game of the season to give them more time.<\/p>\n

However, even if works are completed in time, the fact that supporters have been left in the dark over their season tickets is far from good enough.<\/p>\n

Season ticket holders have spent up to \u00a3701 to be in the North Stand this campaign, with one block already sold out. These concerns are evident across many supporters, but still, the club says nothing.<\/p>\n
