Royal experts have suggested that King Charles revealed<\/a> his true feelings towards Prince Andrew <\/a>when he chose to remove the police protection for his two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.<\/a> In 2011, a decision was made to remove the taxpayer-funded security detail for both princesses.<\/p>\n

Royal correspondent Jack Royston believes the move would have “really stung for Andrew”, while fellow royal expert Jennie Bond<\/a> said she vividly remembered Andrew’s response. She recalled: “I do remember him being very upset, affronted, insulted on behalf of his daughters by Charles’ decision.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Baroness Ayesha Hazarika suggested that the choice to axe Beatrice and Eugenie’s security would have dealt a significant blow to Andrew and clearly demonstrated to the public how their relationship stood.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Baroness remarked: “That certainly sent a signal Andrew and it certainly sent a signal to the wider public that there was definitely a cooling in relations.”<\/p>\n

The bond between Charles, 76, and Andrew, 65, has continued to attract attention in recent years following his coronation as King and the Duke of York<\/a>‘s withdrawal from Royal duties amid a string of controversies, including questionable connections to Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>, reports OK!<\/a><\/p>\n

Additionally, a recent alteration has reportedly been implemented which means that Andrew would no longer be eligible to deputise for the monarch as Counsellors of State.<\/p>\n

A discreet amendment to the rules in 2022 now stipulates that only working royals can serve as Counsellors of State in place of the monarch.<\/p>\n

As Andrew has stepped back from his working Royal duties, this responsibility is no longer available to him.<\/p>\n

The tension between Charles and Andrew<\/a> isn’t the sole Royal fracture attracting attention, with widespread speculation about whether Charles and his younger son Prince Harry<\/a> might eventually repair their relationship.<\/p>\n

Contributing to the discussion, former Times Royal correspondent Valentine Low spoke to The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show about the possibility of healing this particular divide.<\/p>\n

He observed: “Prince Harry doesn’t want to betray his father. Yes, he betrayed all those secrets as he wanted to let things out in his Netflix<\/a> documentary and his book, Spare.<\/p>\n

“Charles is primarily a father than monarch. It causes Charles immense pain that there is this huge rift in his family. He has said he doesn’t want them to make his last years a misery.
