{"id":272570,"date":"2025-07-18T17:17:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-18T17:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/272570\/"},"modified":"2025-07-18T17:17:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T17:17:11","slug":"prince-william-kate-middleton-could-break-royal-rule-for-prince-george","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/272570\/","title":{"rendered":"Prince William, Kate Middleton could break royal rule for Prince George"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prince William and Kate Middleton are weighing out their options when it comes to their eldest son Prince George\u2019s future travels, The Post hears.<\/p>\n<p>The Prince and Princess of Wales are looking into the possibility of scrapping a 30-year-old rule that prohibits senior members of the royal family from traveling together past the age of 12.<\/p>\n<p>The rule was initially established to safeguard the monarchy\u2019s line of succession in the event of a tragic accident.<\/p>\n<p>Prince William and Kate Middleton are weighing out their options when it comes to their eldest son Prince George\u2019s future travels, The Post hears. \/ SplashNews.com<\/p>\n<p>Insiders tell The Post that the Waleses are having talks with advisors and aides about potentially axing the decades-long tradition <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/04\/10\/entertainment\/prince-william-kate-middleton-face-real-dilemma-over-son-georges-future-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">once George turns 12 on July 22<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>King Charles\u2019s former pilot, Graham Laurie, said the rule was firmly put into place when William turned 12.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInterestingly, we flew [Charles],\u00a0Princess [Diana], Prince William and\u00a0Prince Harry, up until Prince William was 12 years old,\u201d Laurie previously said on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalplayer.com\/podcasts\/episodes\/7Drh2a3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cA Right Royal Podcast.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter that, he had to have a separate aircraft, and we could only fly all four together when they were young with the written permission of Her Majesty,\u201d referring to\u00a0the late Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n<p>Prince George, who is second in line to the throne, is set to turn 12 on July 22. INSTARimages<\/p>\n<p>While a concrete decision has yet to be announced, the Waleses also have the option of requesting special permission from King Charles to continue traveling together as a family.<\/p>\n<p>The Post has reached out to Kensington Palace for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, William and Kate are reportedly also considering breaking from tradition when it comes to raising Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who are third and fourth in line to the throne, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The Prince of Wales is looking into the possibility of scrapping a 30-year-old rule that prohibits senior members of the royal family to travel together past the age of 12.
