Newcastle United have bid farewell to one of their own as Sean Longstaff completed his move to Leeds United on Friday night.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Newcastle<\/a> and Leeds<\/a> admins were both busy as the former paid tribute to the departing hometown hero, while the latter welcomed an exciting new arrival to Elland Road.<\/p>\n

Leeds have reportedly paid \u00a312million for Longstaff<\/a>, alongside a further \u00a33million in achievable add-ons, including Premier League survival.<\/p>\n

Longstaff himself took to Instagram with a short message for Newcastle, which led to many of his peers \u2013 including Tino Livramento<\/a> and Sandro Tonali<\/a> \u2013 to respond.<\/p>\n

Sean Longstaff<\/a> shared a highlights reel of himself on Instagram, along with the message \u201cthank you for everything, NUFC\u201d.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t take long for many of Longstaff\u2019s peers to wish him well and say they\u2019ll miss him.<\/p>\n

Livramento wrote: \u201cThanks for everything brother, you\u2019ll be a big big miss\u201d. Meanwhile, Tonali posted a crying emoji along with three red hearts.<\/p>\n

Alan Shearer wished Longstaff good luck, while Joe Willock admitted he had a tear in his eye due to the news and Paul Dummett said the midfielder \u201clived the dream\u201d.<\/p>\n

In addition, Jacob Murphy described Longstaff as a \u201chero\u201d and a \u201clegend\u201d.<\/p>\n

Longstaff becomes Leeds\u2019 fifth summer signing after Sebastiaan Bornau, Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol and Gabriel Gudmundsson.<\/p>\n

Callum Wilson\u2019s big Sean Longstaff compliment<\/p>\n

In 2023, former Newcastle forward Callum Wilson said he wouldn\u2019t swap Longstaff for anyone<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe brought in a \u00a360million striker last summer and you use it as competition, as fuel,\u201d he told The Times.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know with the way the club\u2019s going that if you don\u2019t perform then potentially it could be your time done at the club. So you have to keep performing, keep pushing and keep improving.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd that\u2019s what everyone\u2019s doing. Players like Sean Longstaff, who\u2019s come through the academy, and now the manager is getting the best out of him and he looks a top player week in, week out. <\/p>\n
