As any parent <\/a>will tell you, the terms ‘affordable’ and ‘theme park’ seldom appear together in conversation. With numerous weeks of school breaks to get through, many families will be seeking days out that won’t strain their budget<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Research conducted by Outdoor Toy<\/a>s examined peak pricing at theme parks throughout the UK, ranking attractions based on children’s ticket costs during weekend visits in summer. This suggests those prepared to visit during off-peak periods or weekdays could achieve even greater savings.<\/p>\n

In fifth place on the list was an attraction just an hour from Liverpool that’s described as offering “Magical family fun in the great outdoors!” BeWILDerwood in Cheshire <\/a>offers themed tree-based adventures from a sky maze to enormous slides, with live performances included in the entry fee.<\/p>\n

Peak tickets are just \u00a323 for a child, and according to one satisfied guest, this includes plenty to keep the kids entertained. In a TripAdvisor review, they remarked: “The place is really great – loads of tree house type mazes, play areas, craft area, show and meet and greet with the show’s character. All the staff we encountered were very friendly.”<\/p>\n

Another positive review, adding towards the park’s 4.3 rating, said the park can be enjoyed in all sorts of weather<\/a>: “After we started to explore we did get warm and were pleasantly surprised at how sheltered it was in the woods. My daughter loved the freedom of running around and it was great to feel safe to allow her to do so.”, they said.<\/p>\n

The attraction claiming the top spot was Playland Fun Park in Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire, which provides free entry. Visitors pay individually per ride, with numerous many of them costing just \u00a31 a go.<\/p>\n

Their website boasts “20 fantastic attractions”, featuring a pirate ship, F1 vehicles, and bumper boats. During summer periods, youngsters can refresh themselves in the splash zone. Parents on a budget can reduce expenses further by packing their own food and drink, as the park has a picnic space with seating.<\/p>\n

Despite its economical pricing, Playland boasts impressive TripAdvisor feedback. One visitor commented: “Went with our son and our 3 year old granddaughter . She loved it. Loads of electric cars and bikes for her to drive. She was very happy there and on way home. Queues very small even on a sunny Saturday, every ride 1 or 2 pounds.”<\/p>\n

Another guest said: “This was really fun and a great price. Does need a bit of a refurb but we enjoyed it regardless. Nice pace going round.”<\/p>\n

Next up is The Web Adventure Park, situated on the fringes of York. A child’s ticket is a bargain at just \u00a317.95 during the summer months, granting access to an indoor play area, fairground attractions, and a section for ‘animal encounters’ where little ones can interact with animals.<\/p>\n

There’s also a regular foam party, so remember to bring a spare set of clothes.<\/p>\n

Boasting a stellar 4.5-star rating on TripAdvisor<\/a>, one visitor praised it as: “Amazing value for money! All staff were excellent and friendly. Was nice to have paid and let the kids enjoy everything without having to budget.”<\/p>\n

In third place is Camel Creek Adventure Park in Wadebridge, Cornwall, where entry starts at only \u00a320 for children, and tots under 92cm go free. An added perk is that purchasing a day ticket entitles you to a free seven-day pass \u2013 ideal for families spending their holidays in the much-loved Cornwall region.<\/p>\n

Camel Creek features thrilling rides such as Thunder Falls, a rollercoaster that ends with a splash, a pirate ship, and a chair swing. For those who adore animals, there’s a stable and pet corner where they can befriend a variety of adorable animals.<\/p>\n

Just missing out on the top three is Fantasy Island in Skegness. If thrill rides aren’t your cup of tea, you can enter for free and explore attractions like the seven-day market.<\/p>\n

However, if you’re up for the rides, you’ll need to purchase a wristband, which research indicates will set you back \u00a320.50 for children for a single day.<\/p>\n

If you’re staying close by, opt for a two or seven-day wristband at Fantasy Island, which is more cost-effective per day. The park boasts an extensive array of attractions, from river rapids to rollercoasters, alongside gentler rides for the youngsters.<\/p>\n

They even offer on-site accommodation for those looking for an extended break.<\/p>\n

Fantasy Island scores 3.8 stars on TripAdvisor, with one visitor commenting: “We’ve been before but not for a few years, and I have to say I think Fantasy Island is a great day out for all the family. The kids (aged 14, 11 and 8) had a superb time and I thoroughly recommend spending a full day here. Wristband prices are good value.”<\/p>\n

The same reviewer also shared a tip for additional savings: “I didn’t realise beforehand but apparently there is a blue light discount too if you are eligible.”<\/p>\n
