He made the decision to move to 154, something that has been discussed for some time now.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.secondsout.com\/news\/jaron-ennis-turned-down-6-million\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Talk immediately turned to an all-action clash with knockout artist Vergil Ortiz Jr, though a lack of progression has left some fans wondering whether or not both men wanted the fight.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/CxCLyqZdyLg?si=Rl-58VR6eUjknj4G&amp;t=424\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fight Hub TV<\/a>, Ennis\u2019 promoter Eddie Hearn has now confirmed that it will be happening after Ennis has a bedding in fight first.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cSo we got asked if we\u2019d fight Vergil Ortiz on the August 16th card, which we said, \u2018yes, we\u2019d be interested.\u2019 Vergil came back and said \u2018I\u2019m not ready till later in the year\u2019 right? Then we decided to lock in a fight for Boots end of September, beginning of October. Then Turki came back and said \u2018Do you wanna look at the fight for November 22nd?\u2019 and we said \u2018Look we\u2019re taking this fight as our first fight at 54, we will agree the Vergil Ortiz fight in the process.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not like we\u2019re gonna take a fight and we can speak after, we can lock that fight in now. Myself and Golden Boy are talking about that fight, it\u2019s gonna be one of the biggest fights in America. As I said to Vergil, you two guys are two young, brilliant fighters. This fight is happening.
