Keeping track of the relationships between the members of the British Royal Family feels like a full-time job at times. King Charles and Prince Harry are feuding, but they\u2019ve taken the first steps towards reconciliation. Prince William<\/a>, however, wasn\u2019t involved in that first meeting, so whether he and Harry can reconcile remains to be seen. And Kate Middleton<\/a> and Meghan Markle<\/a> seem to, in many ways, just be following their husbands\u2019 leads in this ongoing feud.<\/p>\n

The fact that Prince William\u2019s aides were absent from the meeting between King Charles and Prince Harry<\/a>\u2019s aides has been a talking point in the last few days. \u201cThe important issue is that Prince William and his representatives were not invited,\u201d royal expert Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital<\/a>. \u201cI feel that this was a warning shot across William\u2019s bows that Charles is king \u2013 not him. \u2026 It may also be a stark warning that Charles will decide what happens during his reign, not William.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Turner, the message is obvious. \u201cIt is a sign from King Charles<\/a> that he wants peace with Harry and Meghan and to meet his grandchildren.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prince William and Kate Middleton recently shared birthday wishes for Queen Camilla, the modern way, on Instagram. \u201cHappy Birthday to Her Majesty!\u201d Prince William and Princess Kate wrote on Instagram Stories and X with a birthday cake emoji alongside a new portrait of the Queen Buckingham Palace released on her birthday eve. This proves William\u2019s relationship with his father is not completely broken after the meeting with Harry. But reports indicate there is tension.<\/p>\n

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said to Fox News Digital that William likely knew of the meeting between his father and brother\u2019s aides, but chose not to get involved.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe king is still battling cancer and is in his late 70s,\u201d said Fitzwilliams. \u201cHe wants a relationship with his grandchildren, whom he has hardly met. He is also temperamentally more accommodating than William. But [William] cannot trust the Sussexes. They must know it. The prospect of seeing the Sussexes at royal events would enrage the monarchy\u2019s loyal supporters. \u2026 Of course, reconciliation is desirable [for the king]. It would, however, come at a price.\u201d<\/p>\n

British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told the outlet, however, that possible reconciliation might depend on William\u2014and that if it goes along without William, that could cause issues. \u201cLife is too short for battles,\u201d she said. \u201cHowever, without Prince William\u2019s inclusion in the rapprochement, I can\u2019t see a positive outcome. It could also cause a wedge between Charles and William, despite the king most certainly consulting with William.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prince Harry said in a\u00a0BBC interview in May that he wanted reconciliation. \u201cThere\u2019s no point in continuing to fight anymore,\u201d he said. \u201cLife is precious. Forgiveness is 100 percent a possibility because I would like to get my father and brother back.\u201d But that might be complicated considering recent reports about Prince William.<\/p>\n

The Daily Beast<\/a>\u00a0reported that, according to a friend of William, \u201cHe absolutely f***ing hates\u201d Harry. That same source also told the outlet that. \u201cWilliam will never, ever forgive Harry for what he has done. Charles is the king; he can do what he likes. But make no mistake: William believes with every fiber of his being that giving Harry and Meghan back any royal imprimatur is a huge mistake.\u201d<\/p>\n
