CONSERVATION WORK: Eden has been running a seal hospital, and uses Instagram to share advice on helping injured seals<\/p>\nEden Willmott from Gedney Drove End, Lincolnshire, will be taking on the challenging 26.2 miles pounding the streets of London at the end of the month by participating in the London Marathon! <\/p>\n
Eden\u2019s mission is to promote awareness about the importance of conservation and to help raise funds in support of the vital work carried out by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).<\/p>\n
After completing her A-levels at the University Academy Holbeach and undertaking internships in conservation, Eden went on to gain a bachelor\u2019s degree in Zoology at the University of Lincoln to kickstart her career. Since graduating, she has been running the seal hospital at Natureland Seal Sanctuary, where she has rescued, rehabilitated and released more than 150 harbour and grey seals, giving them a second chance at life in the wild.<\/p>\n

She witnesses firsthand the threats that seals and other marine mammals face due to habitat degradation, pollution and overfishing. Through her Instagram account @sealrescuer, \u2014 followed by over 340,000 people \u2014 she shares inspiring rehabilitation stories, guidance on what to do if you encounter an injured seal, conservation tips and more.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter completing both the Landmarks Half Marathon and the Royal Parks Half, I rediscovered my love for running\u201d says Eden. \u201cThis inspired me to take on the London Marathon \u2014 not just for the personal challenge, but to help raise funds for crucial global conservation efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n
Eden is aiming to raise more than \u00a32,500 in support of WWF, an organisation dedicated to restoring nature, protecting endangered species, and safeguarding our planet\u2019s most threatened habitats. A major focus of WWF\u2019s work is ocean conservation \u2014 preserving marine ecosystems and the incredible wildlife, like seals, that call them home. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n With the help of supporters, WWF tackles some of the most urgent threats to nature, including climate change and habitat destruction.
