\n The former Wigan, Leigh, and Widnes forward is charged with a number of allegations, including rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and perverting the course of justice.\n<\/p>\n
\n Hock, aged 40 and of Leigh, has pleaded not guilty to all 10 charges before him, with his trial commencing this week at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.\n<\/p>\n
\n However, the jury in his trial was discharged this week, and the trial has been adjourned to next year.\n<\/p>\n
\n This is due to the judge presiding over the case falling ill, with the jury having heard two days of evidence.\n<\/p>\n
\n A replacement judge told jurors that the original judge in the case would not be well enough to return to complete the trial.\n<\/p>\n
\n As a result, he told the jury that the trial could not continue, and that they would be discharged.\n<\/p>\n
\n Hock will next appear back before the crown court next month for a pre-trial hearing, and his trial has been scheduled to start again in May next year.\n<\/p>\n
\n During his playing days, the forward began his career with hometown club Wigan Warriors in 2003, and he made almost 200 appearances for the cherry and whites.\n<\/p>\n
\n He later went on to play for Widnes, Salford, Featherstone, Barrow, and Leigh.\n<\/p>\n
\n Hock retired as a player in 2019 after making a total of 313 career appearances, scoring 81 tries.\n<\/p>\n
