The CEO of Astronomer, whose embrace with a co-worker during a Coldplay concert kiss cam went viral, has tendered his resignation.<\/p>\n
Tech firm chief executive Andy Byron and a colleague went viral after a video from a Coldplay concert in Boston on 16 July showed them arm in arm during a crowd kiss cam.<\/p>\n
As soon as the pair realised that they were being projected to the entire Gillette Stadium, they ducked out of frame in an effort to hide from the camera.<\/p>\n
Lead singer Chris Martin said the pair were either “very shy” or “having an affair”.<\/p>\n
The video went viral across social media following the concert, revealing that the pair were married to other people and both worked at the same company, Astronomer.<\/p>\n
Mr Byron’s company, Astronomer, previously said it had launched an investigation into the matter.<\/p>\n
Posting to social media site X today, Astronomer said in a statement: “Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted.”<\/p>\n
“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,” it said.<\/p>\n
Astronomer’s board said it will now begin a search for its next CEO.<\/p>\n
