Passengers were evacuated from a train at Liverpool Lime Street following reports of a fire. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service<\/a> are currently in attendance at the incident at the city’s main station<\/a> today, Saturday, following reports of the fire underneath a stationary train.<\/p>\n Fire crews were alerted at 12.54pm and were on scene two minutes later with three fire engines and a search and rescue team<\/a>. All people had been removed from the train safely, and there were no signs of smoke or fire.<\/p>\n The train was isolated and disconnected from live overhead lines, with a stop in place on lines 9 and 10. All other lines remain operational.<\/p>\n Fire crews monitored temperatures of the train externally, and following further investigation, it was identified that the boiler in one of the train carriages had tripped.<\/p>\n Firefighters continued to monitor conditions at the scene, checking for any signs of electrical burning, with no visible signs of smoke or fire.<\/p>\n A multi-agency meeting between MFRS, Network Rail<\/a>, Avanti Trains, and the Lime Street Station manager has taken place.<\/p>\n The train will remain isolated in situ while maintenance is undertaken before the vehicle is removed from the platform.<\/p>\n We’ll be bringing you the very latest updates, pictures and video on this breaking news story.
