The rumors about Max Verstappen<\/a> continue, even now that Christian Horner has been replaced as team principal of Red Bull Racing<\/a>. Top advisor Helmut Marko<\/a> says that Verstappen was aware of Horner’s impending dismissal. This was earlier confirmed by Verstappen’s manager Raymond Vermeulen.<\/b>Marko confirms: Verstappen was aware of Horner’s dismissal<\/p>\n

Talking to Austrian medium oe24, Marko immediately makes clear that he does not want to talk about Horner’s departure.<\/p>\n

When asked whether Verstappen was aware of the impending dismissal, he answered: \u201cMax was aware. I do not want to say anything more about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

This was the first time that Marko, albeit reluctantly, commented on how the decision was communicated towards Verstappen about the Briton’s dismissal.<\/p>\n

According to the German Bild, Marko was himself involved in the decision and was present during the dismissal of the former team boss.<\/a> Also, Horner would have had to previously relinquish marketing duties at sister team Racing Bulls, and both Verstappen and shareholder Chalerm Yoovidhya are said to have not shown up at an annual event at the former team principal’s property.Verstappen has a contract until 2028, but this is no guarantee he will stay. The Dutchman is frequently linked with Mercedes and the speculation only increased after he and Toto Wolff were spotted to be simultaneously in Sardinia \u2014 even as GPblog<\/b> could report the two did not meet<\/a>.Marko also explained is free to talk to anyone<\/a>. \u201cMax can meet with whomever he wants,\u201d he said earlier.<\/p>\n
