It’s now over a week since Noel Gallagher was first spotted as he arrived at one of the city’s swankiest hotels – the five star Stock Exchange<\/a> Hotel right in the heart of Manchester city centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While Noel arrived in the sun-soaked city last Thursday afternoon<\/a> (July 10), there was no sign of brother Liam. The M.E.N. understands he is not staying at the same hotel as Noel during their five dates at Heaton Park.<\/p>\n

Man City fan Noel<\/a> has put his football allegiances to one side with his booking – as the hotel is famously owned by Manchester United legend Gary Neville<\/a>, who opened the venue in 2019 alongside teammate Ryan Giggs.<\/p>\n

The hotel featured on the list of 100 best places to say in the UK for 2025 by the Times back in March alongside the likes of Cumbria\u2019s Gilpin Hotel & Lake House, The Pig in the Cotswolds and Belgravia\u2019s The Goring Hotel.<\/p>\n

Housed in the former stock exchange building, the grade-II listed property was built between 1904 and 1906, and in the hotel’s entry by The Times, it is described as bringing \u201ca dash of old-school opulence to Manchester city centre<\/a>\u201d and highlighted its magnificent interiors.<\/p>\n

Located on Norfolk Street, it has become known as a sanctuary for global music icons, legendary footballers and award-winning actors to rest their heads when they stay in the city, and this past week it has opened its doors to rock royalty as the Gallagher brother has been staying there during the band’s five homecoming shows at Heaton Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Noel has even stopped to sign memorabilia over the past week too as fans swarmed to get a sighting of the rock star. Every day the band have been playing, Oasis fans have waited patiently for the singer and songwriter to appear and get a chance to get some merch signed.<\/p>\n

The hotel’s owner, former Reds captain Neville, is known to be a big Oasis fan, although he and Noel have engaged in plenty of bracing football banter over the years.<\/p>\n

After the Gallaghers made their reunion announcement, Gary took to Twitter<\/a> to joke that “Manchester’s second most famous brothers make a comeback.”<\/p>\n

As well as offering an extra level of discretion and privacy, the hotel’s 40 bedrooms make it an ideal stay for superstars and their entourage to book out.<\/p>\n

With a 5-star rating on TripAdvisor, and ranking with the city’s top 10 places to stay, there’s a number of reasons why it has become so popular with the stars.<\/p>\n

Over the last few years everyone from Nicki Minaj to Liam Gallagher and David Beckham have stayed at the lavish five-star venue based inside Manchester’s historic former Stock Exchange building on Norfolk Street.<\/p>\n

Bruce Springsteen booked out the entire \u00a323,000-a-night hotel for his week-long stay<\/a> in Manchester back in May, following in the footsteps of Madonna.<\/p>\n

The star famously booked the entire hotel out for a week with her entourage when she chose the city to rehearse in for the opening of her world tour in October 2023. It’s not known which of the plush suites she stayed in, but the top suite is the penthouse, which goes for a cool \u00a31,750 a night.<\/p>\n

Called The House, it has its own separate entrance, a beautiful roof terrace with views across Manchester, three bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room and its own gym.<\/p>\n

Nicki Minaj also posted pictures from the balcony <\/a>when she stayed there on the night of her ill-fated Manchester concert that had to be cancelled at the last minute after she was delayed in Amsterdam.<\/p>\n

Fashion house Chanel<\/a> also booked the entire hotel for its superstar guests when it headed to Manchester for its Metier D’Arts fashion show in November 2023.<\/p>\n

Bosses reserved rooms at the hotel for their VIP guests for the show including movie stars Hugh Grant, Tilda Swinton<\/a> and Kristen Stewart.<\/p>\n

Rooms within the luxurious building can range between \u00a3185 and up to \u00a31,750 for the penthouse suite. On the latter, it is in such high demand that you’ll never see it available to book, and enquiries have to be made via the hotel itself.<\/p>\n

After the residence, accommodation is broken down into Signature suites including The Goldstone Suite, which features two king beds, 106 sq metres of living space, two bathrooms, a dining room, kitchenette and a large seating area.<\/p>\n

There’s also the Boardroom Suite, which is accessible via a private staircase from the lobby.<\/p>\n

In terms of other suites, there is the Norfolk Collection Suite and The Kent Collection Suite. Then rooms include the Arthur Hope, John Gass and Bradshaw Collection.<\/p>\n

The restaurant space inside the hotel is an area that many Mancunians will be familiar with having previously been home to the Stock Italian restaurant around 20 years ago.<\/p>\n

The current restaurant is now is called Tender and is helmed by two Michelin Star chef Niall Keating. The name is a nod to both the tender care that they put into dishes here, as well as a play on words for cash – given the Stock Exchange’s history.<\/p>\n

The restaurant opened to the public in June 2024, and is already proving a popular choice with Manchester diners. Sunday lunch is one of the busiest days, and Liam Gallagher was even spotted here before heading out to perform at Co-op Live Arena last year.<\/p>\n

Downstairs in the basement is the hotel’s award-winning bar Sterling. Open to the general public for bookings, as well as hotel guests it is run by the bartending pros the Schofield brothers.<\/p>\n
