Greater Manchester has been hit with a weather warning by the Met Office.<\/p>\n
The yellow weather<\/a> warning for rain covers the north west of England today (July 20).<\/p>\n The warning is in place between 11am this morning and 10pm this evening.<\/p>\n Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The forecaster is warning people to expect ‘showery rain, heavy and perhaps thundery’.<\/p>\n The weather ‘may cause some localised surface water flooding on Sunday’, added the Met Office warning, saying that the ‘flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely’.<\/p>\n The body has told people to expect disruption, including bus and train services being affected, and journey times taking longer.<\/p>\n The Met Office has also advised that spray and flooding on roads might make journey times longer.<\/p>\n There may be ‘some interruption to power supplies and other services likely’.<\/p>\n The forecaster said: “Showery outbreaks of rain, heavy and perhaps thundery in places, will move northwestwards from late Sunday morning and through the afternoon before gradually easing during the evening.<\/p>\n “Accumulations of 10-20 mm are expected fairly widely, with a few places potentially receiving as much as 40 mm, much of this falling in just a few hours. This could lead to some surface water flooding.”<\/p>\n
