Armand Lauriente travelled to England to undergo medical tests with Sunderland,<\/a> but according to several sources, his move has collapsed, so the winger is returning to Sassuolo.<\/p>\n

French winger Laurient\u00e9 won\u2019t move to Sunderland.<\/p>\n

Several sources, including Fabrizio Romano and TMW,<\/a> confirm that the 26-year-old won\u2019t join the newly promoted Premier League side this summer.<\/p>\n

Sunderland and Sassuolo had reached an agreement over a \u20ac20m deal, and the player travelled to England on Saturday to undergo medical tests.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s still unclear whether the French winger underwent medical tests with the Premier League club, but the reason behind his failed move to Sunderland doesn\u2019t seem to be tied to his fitness.<\/p>\n

Laurient\u00e9 has asked to leave Sassuolo after contributing to their Serie A promotion last season with 18 league goals.<\/p>\n

Laurient\u00e9 was the top scorer in Serie B during the 2024-25 season, as well as the best player in Italy\u2019s second division last term.<\/p>\n

Laurient\u00e9 is now returning to Italy, but it\u2019s unlikely that he\u2019ll remain at Sassuolo for the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n
