{"id":277582,"date":"2025-07-20T14:36:20","date_gmt":"2025-07-20T14:36:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/277582\/"},"modified":"2025-07-20T14:36:20","modified_gmt":"2025-07-20T14:36:20","slug":"leeds-united-deal-is-98-confirmed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/277582\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Leeds United deal is 98% confirmed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <img width=\"1140\" height=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Marathe-Farke-Leeds-1140x641.jpg\" class=\"attachment-single-feature size-single-feature wp-post-image\" alt=\"Marathe, Farke Leeds\" layout=\"fill\"  style=\"object-position: 50% 50%\" loading=\"eager\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Credit: Imago<\/p>\n<p>   <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Keith-Wyness-150x150.png\" width=\"64\" height=\"64\" alt=\"Keith Wyness\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>   <\/p>\n<p> Sun 20 July 2025 14:15, UK <\/p>\n<p><strong>Leeds United have been tipped to complete their stadium redevelopment project without any problems.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/leeds-united-to-spend-hundreds-of-millions-after-new-reveal-stefan-borson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elland Road is set for a massive expansion<\/a> over the next few years, with the Yorkshire club hoping to boost the capacity of their home from 37,890 to 56,500.<\/p>\n<p>The West Stand and North Stand are both expected to be revamped, and work could begin on the build as early as the beginning of 2026.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/tag\/leeds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leeds<\/a> have now formally submitted plans to the city council, with a decision on the application coming sometime in October.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/tag\/everton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Everton\u2019s<\/a> former chief Keith Wyness \u2013 who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs \u2013 believes that the club will have no problem getting the stadium expansion approved.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Elland-Road-1-scaled-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Elland Road\" class=\"wp-image-670295\" \/>Elland Road is set for redevelopment (Credit: Imago)<strong>Leeds will have \u2018zero hitches\u2019 in Elland Road redevelopment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the new edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/show\/7Atmejn4fSX2w7S8NBVKdv?si=89bd84059df14189\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Football Insider<\/strong>\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, Wyness insisted that Leeds will suffer \u201czero issues\u201d with their expansion of Elland Road.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES<\/p>\n<p>The Whites are currently owned by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/49ers-accelerate-rangers-overhaul-as-three-more-exits-confirmed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">49ers Enterprises, who recently acquired a controlling stake in Scottish giants Rangers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Wyness added that the Leeds owners have the funds to be able to turn Elland Road into a showpiece stadium again.<\/p>\n<p>He told <strong>Football Insider<\/strong>\u2018s Inside Track podcast: \u201cI think in the consultation process, when I looked at it, it\u2019s something like 98 % approvals that sail through. The council\u2019s right behind Leeds United in doing this. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019ve been up there at all, then you\u2019ll know that Elland Road\u2019s on the way into Leeds. It\u2019s a great regional development tool for Leeds as well. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a great city, Leeds, I love going there and it\u2019s just something that I think will go well because the council are right behind it. They\u2019ve got great owners with the pockets to be able to do this. I expect zero hitches in terms of getting Elland Road back into being a showpiece stadium again.
