A new name has entered the fray in the search for the next James Bond<\/a>, with actor Callum Turner<\/a> \u2018tipped\u2019 to take the role.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old model-turned-actor \u2013 and fianc\u00e9e of pop icon Dua Lipa<\/a> \u2013 starred in the Apple<\/a> TV+ drama Masters of the Air as Major \u2018Bucky\u2019 Egan.<\/p>\n

He also appeared in the Harry Potter<\/a> spin-off films as Theseus Scamander in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and The Secrets of Dumbledore.<\/p>\n

Last month, it was confirmed that the Bond franchise had found its next director in Dune helmsman Denis Villeneuve<\/a>. <\/p>\n

This led to speculation that his Lisan al Gaib Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet might take on the role<\/a> \u2013 but the iconic spy\u2019s shoes remain unfilled for now.<\/p>\n

With Bond\u2019s Amazon bosses<\/a> reportedly circling just a handful of names, British actor Callum may yet fit the bill.<\/p>\n

According to a report from Heart Bingo, it\u2019s believed that Callum would be Amazon bosses\u2019 best pick for the role.<\/p>\n

Sarah Caskie, Head of Brand for online website told The Daily Mail<\/a>: \u2018With the rumour mill surrounding the next continuing to turn following the announcement Amazon will be taking the reins with the franchise, we\u2019ve turned to public opinion to find the best fit for the 007 role.<\/p>\n

\u2018The masses have spoken on X and we\u2019ve collated the data to find that Callum Turner is the people\u2019s choice to replace Daniel Craig, with 63% of posts concerning his potential role in the next film being positive, while 0% were negative.\u2019<\/p>\n

As of April, Callum\u2019s odds for the role were at 20\/1. <\/p>\n

Outside of his acting work, Callum may best be known as Dua Lipa\u2019s husband-to-be.<\/p>\n

The Levitating singer confirmed that she and boyfriend Callum had gotten engaged, months after flashing a chunky engagement ring on social media.<\/p>\n

\u2018Yeah, we\u2019re engaged,\u2019 she told British Vogue<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s very exciting. This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don\u2019t know, be best friends forever \u2013 it\u2019s a really special feeling.\u2019<\/p>\n

Should Callum take on the license to kill \u2013 or even if he misses out \u2013 bosses could do far worse than hit up Dua Lipa for the next theme tune.<\/p>\n

Callum joins a list of names which include current frontrunner Aaron Taylor-Johnson, James Norton and Theo James.<\/p>\n

Last month, producers were said to be facing a choice between three big names<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This list consisted of Babygirl\u2019s Harris Dickinson, Saltburn star Jacob Elordi and Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland. <\/p>\n

However, with the position still vacant, BBC actor Scott Rose-Marsh has also emerged as a potential candidate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 37-year-old thespian, who appeared in movies Wolves of War and Code of Silence, is currently eighth-favourite for the part, according to Oddschecker.<\/p>\n

This makes him something of an underdog in the fight, especially when compared to bigger names like Henry Cavill and Tom Hardy.<\/p>\n

The search for the next Bond follows the news that Dune director Denis will helm the franchise\u2019s next instalment<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007,\u2019 he said in a statement released soon after the news broke.<\/p>\n

\u2018I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since Dr. No with Sean Connery. I\u2019m a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he\u2019s sacred territory.<\/p>\n

He described the opportunity \u2018a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honour.\u2019<\/p>\n
