The Glasgow Subway<\/a> was suspended in both directions on this afternoon (July 20) following an emergency \u201ccustomer incident\u201d.<\/p>\n Emergency personnel raced to the scene as Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT)<\/a> announced both the Inner and Outer Circles were closed at around 4.45pm.<\/p>\n The Subway operator apologised for inconvenience to passengers and said it would update customers when the Subway reopens, reports Glasgow Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n In a statement to the Glasgow Subway\u2019s social media channels, Strathclyde Partnership for Transport said: \u201cApologies all, both Inner and Outer Circles are currently suspended due to a customer incident<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cEmergency services are in attendance<\/a>. We will update when services resume. Apologies for the inconvenience.\u201d<\/p>\n British Transport Police has been contacted for more information<\/a>.<\/p>\n SPT announced the Subway had resumed<\/a> around 5.21pm.<\/p>\n In February this year, in a separate incident, we reported that a woman died after an incident at a Glasgow subway station<\/a>.<\/p>\n Emergency crews were called to a medical incident at Bridge Street subway station, in Tradeston, on Wednesday, February 20.<\/p>\n British Transport Police were also alerted to an ongoing incident<\/a> at 1.30pm. Despite efforts from paramedics, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n The station was closed off to the public while the incident unfolded.<\/p>\n A BTP spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a medical incident at around 1.30pm on February 20 at Bridge Street subway station, Glasgow.<\/p>\n “Officers attended alongside paramedics.
